Ticketmaster Sells Inauguration Tickets A Day Early - Already Sold Out

A mistake by Ticketmaster on Sunday allowed people to buy up all the tickets to the Inaugural Ball and parade before they were even supposed to go on sale.

The Presidential Inaugural Committee had set aside ball tickets for the public that could be purchased for $60 each and tapped Ticketmaster to coordinate the sale, beginning Monday.

But Ticketmaster started the sale early, sending out emails with purchasing information on Sunday night -- not only for the ball but also for the parade. By Monday morning, they were sold out. - Politico

Ticketmaster really messed this one up. First the PIC sent an email on Sunday saying you'd receive an email from Ticketmaster on Monday with a link to buy tix for the ball and parade, but then later on Sunday Ticketmaster sent the email to some, but not all, the people that requested tix. I was one that didn't get the email with the links and the codes, so I never even had a fair chance to get any tickets...although to add insult to injury late Monday afternoon they did send me both the email with the links and the apology for screwing up. They say they "take responsibility for the mistake" but from what I see they're not taking any responsibility at all other than admitting they screwed up.
