| Back in January of 2008 then Senator Barack Obama and Mitt Romney held campaign events the same week in Denver. Obama's event was at the University of Denver, home to the first presidential debate on October 3rd. Mitt's was at a car dealership. More people packed into the University of Denver to hear presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama (D-Illinois) speak on Wednesday than voted in the Democratic caucus in 2004. Obama told the crowd of about 13,000 in Magness Arena that the Iraq war "should never have been authorized and should never have been waged." The senator visited Colorado on Wednesday as part of an effort to energize voters before the Super Tuesday primaries and caucuses that will take place in several states on Feb. 5. In addition to the thousands inside the hockey arena, Obama also spoke to crowds in two overflow rooms and there were still people lined up outside of the Ritchie Center who could not get inside. - 9 News I was in one of the overflow crowds outside of the Ritchie Center. Obama came out and talked to us for a while. I've seen him several times since then but this was the time where he won me over for good. Mitt on the other hand didn't do as well at his car dealership appearance Mitt Romney, in the fight of his life with John McCain for the GOP presidential nomination, will appear at 2 p.m today at Freeway Ford at 4471 E. Evans Ave. in Denver, according to his campaign. It's his fifth public visit to Colorado since announcing his candidacy. A poll commissioned by The Denver Post and published Sunday showed Romney with a big lead in Colorado in advance of the state's caucuses Tuesday. National polls, meanwhile, show McCain ahead of Romney. - Denver Post

While Mitt would probably pull in a few more people this year it shows you just how much backing Obama has in Colorado. We will stay blue. Oh and since I wasn't at the Romney event here's a picture of what it probably looked like |
