Cleveland In 2016?

by: Oreo

Tue Dec 11, 2012 at 09:38:54 AM EST

Cleveland bowed out early in the bid for the 2012 Democratic National Convention. It appears that some people there are determined to get the 2016 bid.

Cleveland has had a wealth of experience competing to host either the Democratic or Republican national convention.

In the past 76 years, it has had no experience in winning that competition.

Four times since 1974 -- five or six, if you count mere flirtations -- Cleveland has made a run at hosting a presidential nominating convention. Two of those bids -- in 1992 and 2012 -- saw the city advance to the finalist stage before ultimately falling short.

Now, Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald is determined to end that long losing streak, and is forming a bipartisan group to land one of the two major political conventions in 2016. - The Plain Dealer

As I'm sure you've noticed, the number of posts has dropped dramatically. We'll cover the inauguration and various other events. Jess will continue to tell you how things really are in politics.

Stay tuned for 2016 election and convention updates as well as the 2014 races!
