Thanksgiving Thoughts

Well, Let me be the first to say I am thankful, in an age where you can find anything on the internet, that we have floks like DocJess, Matt, and Oreo that have put together a site that tries to bring honest discussions to the political process. We all have our opinions, but this site, though the amount of contributors is small, has mostly stayed true and truthful.

I am thankful that in a time of National Crisis (multiple ones too) that we have one of the smartest and thoughtful Presidents of the past many decades. Has he always given the left what they want. Nope. But his decisions and actions have always been for the better good of the entire Nation. We are lucky to have had him come along at the time he did. Yes the Country is still divided by hate and political tension, but I see the political tension lessening (thanks in part to Americans waking up and not reelecting people like West).

I am thankful for our Men and Women serving in our military so we can sleep peacefully in our beds at night and go about our daily lives without having to think about it and the many evils in the world. We see the evils from time to time, and think about them for brief moments, but they are not a constant overshadowing thought like people in some parts of the world.

I am thankful for the wacko nut jobs in the public light that wake up voter and get them too the polls. I'm not talking about the GOTV folks, I'm talking about the politicians that actually say what they mean and feel in front of a recording device. And thankful for those recording the events for getting the word out.

I am thankful of a lot of things, but there is still a lot of work to be done for our Nation to move forward. DocJess mentioned the Hostess thing. There is talk of an investment group buying them and keeping all the plants and people that are in place (hopefully they would replace managment), but I fear a more likely scenerio will be that another bakery like Bimbo will buy it and then Twinkies, DingDongs, etc., ill be made in Mexico or worse.

In closing, I am thankful that I am able to type this. That the ability to exchange ideas is still a strength of our Nation. That we are stronger when we disagree than when we all get drawn into the collective. And again, that we have people like the DemConWatch family to disagree with. ;o)

I'm thankful for a lot of things.

But it is not correct that Obama's decisions have always been for the better good of the entire nation.  On some environmental decisions that were under his control, not subject to Congressional approval, he's made bad decisions or done nothing.  He does not appear to take environmental issues seriously.

It's not the same...homemade Twinkies may be good, and even better for you, but no one owns those air infusers nor would cook with the chemicals to make Twinkie cream the gunked up Americana it is!
