Greetings from Home

by: DocJess

Fri Sep 07, 2012 at 15:26:54 PM EDT

I have arrived home from Charlotte. I am still getting my bearings and will have an extended post up tomorrow morning composed from my notes, all of which were taken on an AmPad pad, as I bought the last available cases when Bain killed the company. In addition, I'll have a Sunday with the Senators update based on conversations about Senate races I had with delegates from certain states.

Until then, I leave you (to go work voter registration) with my favourite video from the convention. It was shown at a number of events I attended.

This has become my motto! (0.00 / 0)
It is one of my favorite stories from the campaign and a great video that I never get tired of watching.  Brought me to tears last night, not to mention losing my voice in the TWCA shouting "Fired Up!  Ready To Go!" So there are now 60 days between now and election day.  How will all of us use our voices to go out and make a difference, to change your city, your state, your country for the better?  I will be organizing and mobilizing volunteers, registering voters, knocking on doors and possibly even traveling to battleground states to make sure that, come Nov 6th, I've done what I could to make a difference...and it starts now.
One last comment - thanks to Jess for spending some time with me in Charlotte.  So glad we got a chance to talk and share and get to know each other a little bit better.  Glad to hear you got home safely.  Me too

Meeting tsal (0.00 / 0)
It was GREAT meeting you too, and I will never forget that for the very first thing we did, we went to the Planned Parenthood rally and saw corybookersuperhero.

I had seen the fired up video at the women's caucus, they played it to get everything ready for the surprise visit from Michelle Obama and Jill Biden. And the crowd really was fired up, ready to go, doing the chant for about five minutes, and then the emcee asked, "would you all be even MORE fired up if you knew that Michelle Obama and Jill Biden stopped by to talk to you?" I think the crowd was even LOUDER than when they played this last night.

I'm glad you, too, got home safely. #DNC2012 was an experience I'll never forget, and I'm even thinking about following your lead and seeing about going as a delegate in '16. For sure, one way or another, I'll be there! And I'm betting you will be, too. The first thing I did when I got home (after walking the puppy) was to post the video. Then I went out and registered voters!
