2012 Unbound Delegate List

by: Oreo

Fri Feb 17, 2012 at 13:56:55 PM EST

The reason we created this page started with New Hampshire but will assuredly expand in the coming weeks. New Hampshire law states that any delegates selected for a candidate that is no longer in the race is not bound to vote for any specific candidate at the convention.

As you know we're the #1 source for Superdelegates anywhere. Now we introduce to you our 2012 Unbound Delegate List. The top table shows the current candidates and any delegates that have endorsed them. The bottom table shows selected delegates' names and the candidate that they were originally pledged to.

As with our Superdelegate List we only accept endorsements that can be proven by a link. Word of mouth does not work for us.

This page frozen on 4/10/12.

Ron Paul -0 Newt Gingrich - 0 Mitt Romney -1 Rick Santorum -0
Paul J. Collins, Jr. - Huntsman

Undecided/Unannounced Unbound Delegates

Illinois - 12 - to be chosen at
GOP State Convention June 8-9

New Hampshire - 50% Penalty - either
1.5 or 2 counted delegates

Renee Plummer - Huntsman
Sarah Stewart - Huntsman

I'm confused (0.00 / 0)
Huntsman has 2 delegates in the sidebar chart. Here he seems to have had 3?

In any case, he should be removed from the sidebar charts now, right?

You're not the only one (4.00 / 1)
New Hampshire is facing a penalty so they won't all count. We're waiting to hear how the delegates will be divided. Either they'll each count 50% or the candidates will need to choose which delegates they want.

Thanks for reminding me though... I'll note the penalty in the table

Either 1.5 or 2 (0.00 / 0)
and I updated the table to show this.

That's all there is (0.00 / 0)
My guess is that none of the four candidates will bow out until the voting is done (although they might run out of money and stop actively campaigning). If so, then this list will be limited to Collins, Plummer and Stewart.

My guess is that Ron Paul will ask for his son Sen. Rand Paul to be named as running mate in return for the support of Ron Paul's delegates. Looking at inTrade, it looks like I am not alone in this opinion: Currently Ron Paul is at 1.6% and Rand Paul is at 2.6% for VP.

North Dakota (0.00 / 0)
Would the North Dakota delegates go on this list? I understand they are unbound. I believe there are also some uncommitted delegates from the Virgin Islands and Wyoming. Anyway, I think there might be more than what is shown here. Thanks for humoring me.

They would, but (0.00 / 0)
we're not going to update this list going forward.

Got it. Thanks.
