| There is a portrait of Baby Bush installed at the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery in DC. There is text with the portrait. Bernie Sanders saw the text, and it didn't quite sit well with him. He wrote a letter to Martin Sullivan, Director of the Portrait Gallery. His objection was the part of the wording which stated: "the attacks on September 11, 2001…led to wars in Afghanistan and Iraq." Senator Sanders objection? IT'S NOT TRUE! Yesterday, the gallery director promptly and graciously responded. “Our label was not intended to imply that there was a causal connection between the attacks that occurred on 9/11 and the subsequent U.S. invasion of Iraq…I appreciate your concern, however, about the words ‘led to’. We will revise the label and delete the words ‘led to.’”
