Lunchtime Fun

by: DocJess

Thu Mar 26, 2009 at 12:00:00 PM EDT

David Letterman did a piece the other night on the difference between using a teleprompter and not using the teleprompter. You can view the video here. It's a Bush-Obama comparison. Here's another one. I'm thinking these women are referring to brain power. Honest.

oh come on (0.00 / 0)
michelle wouldnt always be smiling if that was what they were talking about:)

Very disrespectful (0.00 / 0)
I saw the same two photos of Condie and Michelle on another website (eluding to Bush and Barack's 'size') a couple of days ago and in my opinion it is VERY DISRESPECTFUL and should NOT be highlighted on the front page of DCW.

Leah, its called humor (0.00 / 0)
Considering what we have been through the last 8 yrs, and considering the grief we are going to go through while Obama tries to clean out the stables, a little bawdy humor is a nice break.

This time I disagree (0.00 / 0)
This time I will have to disagree with you.
Taking two photos (out of context) of two educated powerful FEMALES (and in this case both African-Americans) and reducing them to a 'sexual' joke is not something that I believe should be at the top of a political blog, all day long, which I thought had a goal of being taken seriously.

If it was YOU in the photo and were being presented in a 'sexual' way and YOUR children were to see it then how would you feel then?

I am not a prude, but I just think that a democratic website should show some respect to the First Lady of the United States.

to each their own... (0.00 / 0)
i dont see it that way. of course they are two powerful educated women, so they automatically lose any interest in sex? if it makes you happy....

and futhermore.... (0.00 / 0)
i think we all know both of them have way too much class to be actually discussing presidential penis sizes in public, but that makes it funny, because it does look like it, and it looks like michelle is relatively happy about it and ms rice looks appropriately less satisfied. of course that is not the topic, but it is precisely funny because of it. if they were discussing such matters, it would not be funny, but mildly horrifying.

I don't know, are we "supposed" to be serious?, seriously? (0.00 / 0)
I think this kind of humor is fine comic relief.  But I appreciate that you don't like it Leah, and I hope you don't stop contributing to the site because of it.

well said (0.00 / 0)
i have disagreed with you, leah, before, and surely will again, but i very much about appreciate most of your comments.

i did not see you making a threat to walk away from demcon, and certainly hope this was a 'member of the family' airing a grievance, not someone making a threat.

i still say you need to lighten up about this, but i'm glad you are here.

I'm not going anywhere.
I was just 'airing' my opinion - and now that it is not sitting at the top of the page anymore it's not a biggie  ;)
And like I said before I am not a prude.  The first time I saw it was on another website down in a comment area and it was not as 'distasteful' as being on the top of a front page.
Now onto somethin' more important ;)

fun, honest (0.00 / 0)
Brain size, eh? :) Considering how miserable my allergies are right now and Letterman was in the same paragrah, I needed a laugh. Thanks.
